RV Roof Repair Cost Calculator
Roof work is the most common thing we do in Conroe and the most commonly deferred. This calculator prices it from the pricing page ranges: a reseal at $500 to $1,200, spot repairs and AC gaskets below that, and membrane or decking work at $2,000 to $3,000 and up.
The single biggest driver inside the reseal range is not rig value or roof material, it is how much failed sealant there is to dig out. A 40-foot fifth wheel that has not been resealed in several years has far more labor than a 24-foot trailer done two years ago. That is why length and last-reseal date are two of the four questions.
Why this matters more here than in a dry climate
Lap sealant is a flexible compound that relies on plasticizers to stay pliable. Texas sun bakes them out, and then Montgomery County’s rain finds the result. The muggy season runs from roughly mid-April into late October, and the wettest months typically bring more than 5 inches of rain, so a roof does not get the long dry stretch that lets a small crack stay harmless for years. A joint that opened under spring sun gets tested by summer storms the same season.
Then there is hurricane season, June 1 through November 30. Hurricane Beryl came ashore as a Category 1 storm on July 8, 2024, bringing wind gusts near 70 mph and heavy rain to the Conroe area and leaving a large share of the city’s electric network without power for days. Wind-driven rain, flying debris, and an awning that tried to leave all test a roof at once. An inspection after a storm like that, priced as the cheapest line on this page, is how you find out whether the sealant held. The roof leak page covers how to find a leak you already have, and the roof repair service page covers what a proper reseal involves.
What the estimate cannot see
Soft decking. If the roof flexes underfoot, water has been in the structure long enough to reach the wood, and in Gulf Coast humidity that also means it has not dried out. That is a different job with a different number. It is found by walking the roof, which is part of the trip fee, and you will be told before anything else happens. We do not reseal over wet decking and call it finished.
Send the estimate to the quote form and we will book the walk. The general repair calculator prices everything else on the rig, and we work on site across Conroe, Montgomery, Willis, The Woodlands, Magnolia, New Caney, and Huntsville.
What will my RV roof work cost?
Four questions covering resealing, repairs, and the bigger membrane jobs. The ranges are the ones published on our pricing page.
A reseal is $500 to $1,200 on the pricing page and membrane or decking work is $2,000 to $3,000 and up. Length and neglect are the two things that move a reseal inside its range, because both mean more joints to dig out.
Send this estimate to the quote formAn estimate, not a quote. Soft decking is the one thing that changes a roof job completely, and it is found by walking the roof, not by looking at photos.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often does an RV roof need resealing around Conroe?
Every two to three years is realistic here. Texas sun dries and cracks lap sealant, and Montgomery County's wet season and hurricane season together test every joint the same year, so a roof that might go longer between reseals in a mild dry climate does not get that long here.
Why does rig length change the price so much?
Because the work is in the joints, and a 40-foot fifth wheel has far more seam, more vents, more penetrations, and usually two air conditioners than a 24-foot trailer. The sealant itself is a small part of the cost; digging out the old sealant properly is most of the labor.
What if the tech finds soft decking?
You get told before anything else happens, with an honest assessment of what it would take and whether it is worth it on your rig. We will not reseal over wet decking and call the job done, and we will not guess at the extent of rot without opening it up.
Is the inspection worth paying for?
If you do not know the roof's history, yes, particularly in spring before hurricane season opens June 1, and again after any storm that brought real wind or rain through Montgomery County. It is the cheapest line on this page and it is the difference between planning a reseal and discovering a leak mid-summer.
